Most of the products that we implement for our clients are from Hewlett-Packard. Why is this? No one is making greater investments in the IT Service Management realm. In 2006 HP purchased Peregrine and now Peregrine’s leading service management and asset management products are integrated into the HP Software portfolio. Following, HP acquired Mercury Interactive, a company that provided HP with its greatest competitive threat due to its leadership products in IT governance, application testing and end-to-end application management. Also in 2007, HP acquired Opsware again adding new capabilities for data center automation and change management.
HP’s Software Business Unit employs 2,000 people around the world and has annual revenues of over $1 billion. The analysts have summed the state of the market by writing that "HP has the best chance of all to support converged service delivery". We agree.
Over the many years we have been delivering enterprise management solutions we have evaluated virtually all the enterprise-quality products on the market. While each HP offering is not necessarily “best-of-breed” (we believe many are), together, HP offerings hold the best path to true IT Service Management—the best path to ensuring that fundamental IT needs are met.
