Our Method

Whitlock provides modular IT Service Management solutions with multiple entry points. Our solutions are derived from the reality that IT organizations use domain-specific management solutions for their networks, storage, servers and applications. Similarly, IT departments are usually organized to these same domains.

Our clients often purchase our solutions beginning with domain-specific operation management products, adding configuration and change management products and finally completing the domain targeted solution with process consulting to introduce best practice policies and automation.

Conversely, we will begin with the definition of best practice policies and work backwards accommodating software investments already in use, and complementing these investments with HP’s Business Technology Optimization (BTO) solutions. The choice is yours and reflects where you believe the journey to service management should begin. We will offer our opinions on this matter once we have an understanding of your starting point and your IT service management objectives.

Our project methodology begins and ends with a communication plan to guide all individuals involved and affected. While it is tempting to jump right in and get things done, this alternative approach, which is taking the time to define requirements, listen to stakeholders, gain consensus and plan is ultimately leads to the desired results. The communication plan encapsulates this alternate approach. If our shared goal is to ensure that fundamental IT needs are met, then this is only accomplished if everyone involved is "singing from the same sheet of music".

Derived from the communication plan will be the project plan(s) together with the staffing requirements for both your personnel and for Whitlock’s. Our Project Management Office and project team will meet with you weekly providing you with a detailed report on our progress. We will clearly review all open actions items, all issues and any changes affecting the scope and/or schedule of our project.

Our customers will attest: We are extremely attentive; we do not fail; we do not quit until we achieve the stated objectives. If we shy away from this commitment then we can not be the advocates for IT that we consider ourselves.
